Display: National Wise Health Consumer Month

healthcare display 005.jpgFebruary is National Wise Health Consumer Month which inspired this month’s library display on health care. Come to the Dewey Library and see the display located by the front entrance. It features information on the Affordable Care Act, relevant resources available at the library, and a fact sheet that you can take with you.

The Affordable Care Act was signed into law on March 23, 2010 and last year on June 28th the Supreme Court upheld the law. Many parts of the law will take effect this year, including more funding to Medicaid to improve preventative health coverage and increased Medicaid payments to primary care doctors. A complete timeline can be found online, with most items in effect by 2015. It is also possible to read the full text of the law online.
The Dewey Library has several resources regarding the Affordable Care Act and health care issues in general. Stop by the display for a list of compiled resources!
