ITS will be upgrading the University network and making improvements to the University data center infrastructure on January 5-8, 2007. Access to many IT services will be affected, on campus and remotely, while this work is completed. These upgrades and improvements will provide the campus community with greater redundancy and faster network connections to enterprise IT services.

Several IT systems and administrative applications will be inaccessible for the duration of the upgrade including MyUAlbany, IAS, file server home directories and departmental shares. Work will begin at 3:00 p.m. Friday and conclude by 8:00 a.m. Monday.
January 6, 2007 8:00 a.m. - Noon:
All network services including email, web access, and long distance telephone services in select locations will be unavailable for this interval. During this time, you will only be able to access information available on your hard drive.
For a complete list of all affected services, please visit http://www.albany.edu/its and read our "Did You Know" announcement so you can schedule your workload accordingly.
It is important for ITS to schedule time for necessary upgrades, improvements and maintenance. After consulting with many offices, we have selected these dates to minimize inconvenience. We appreciate your patience as we continue to improve IT services for the UAlbany community.
On-campus and off-campus access to Minerva and assoicated resources will most likely be affected from 8:00 a.m. to Noon on Saturday, January 6th, however, intermittent interruptions may occur at other times. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
