Changes In UADelivery & InterLibrary Loan Services
During the Limited Operations Period Of the Intersession Energy Savings Initiative

**Dewey and Science Libraries will be CLOSED December 22nd– January 2nd**
**InterLibrary Loan CLOSED December 24th**

UADELIVERY & INTERLIBRARY LOAN ITEMS ON HOLD
If you have items “On Hold” at Dewey Library or Science Library, please pick them up by Monday, December 20th.
On Tuesday, December 21st, any items “On Hold” that have not been picked up will be shipped to the University (Main) Library where they will remain “On Hold”. You may pick up your items from the University (Main) Library Circulation Desk.
On Monday, January 3rd, any items that were “On Hold” for you at the University Library will be shipped back to your regular pick up location. (Please allow for turnaround time.)

SUSPENDED SERVICES DEC 16th – Jan 2nd

• UADelivery and ILL shipments to Dewey and Science Libraries.
• Office delivery services for Faculty. (This is due to closed buildings and no mail services during the Limited Operations Period of the Intersession Energy Savings Initiative.)
• Home delivery services for Distance Ed users and for Patrons with Disabilities. (This is due to no mail services during the Limited Operations Period of the Intersession Energy Savings Initiative.)

SUBMITTING UADELIVERY REQUESTS FOR MATERIAL FROM DEWEY AND SCIENCE DECEMBER 22nd- JANUARY 2nd  
While the Dewey and Science Libraries are closed, you may continue to place UA Delivery Services requests through ILLiad.  Library staff will make runs to Dewey Library on 12/27 & 12/29 and daily runs to the Science Library in order to pull material from the stacks so that it can be brought to the University Library for processing.  Please allow for longer turnaround times.

• Book Delivery – You may submit requests for books from Dewey and Science Libraries. You will be able to pick those books up from the University (Main) Library.

NOTE: We will not fill requests for books from the University Library to be picked up at the University Library. 

• Articles – Submit requests as usual.

SUBMITTING INTERLIBRARY REQUESTS DECEMBER 22nd - JANUARY 2nd
 
The Interlibrary Loan office will be staffed for regular business hours during the holidays, with the exception that the office will be closed on December 24th.  You may submit interlibrary loan requests as usual.  Due to the holiday closing of many libraries that lend us materials, please expect that it may take a bit longer than usual to fill your requests.

• Books – You may submit requests for books as usual. However, during this period all books will be held at the University (Main) Library regardless of your normal pick location.

• Articles – Submit requests as usual.

UNIVERSITY LIBRARY ALTERNATE WORK ENVIRONMENT
INTERSESSION ENERGY SAVINGS INITIATIVE
2010/11
Library Hours of Operation

The University Library (west end of the Podium) hours of operation will be as follows: 
December 20 – January 18, Monday – Friday, from 8:00am to 6:00pm and closed Saturdays and Sundays.  Note the building will also be closed on 1/18.

The Science Library will be open December 20 & 21 from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm and Dewey Library will be open 8:30 am – 5:00 pm.  Both facilities will be closed from December 22 through January 2.  The Science Library will be open from January 5 through January 18 Monday – Friday, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm and closed Saturdays and Sundays.   The Dewey Library will be open from January 5 through January 18 Monday – Friday, from 8:30 am to 5:00pm and closed Saturdays and Sundays.  Both Libraries will be closed Monday January 18th.

University Library Alternate Work Environment: Intersession Energy Savings Initiative
University employees coming to the University Library to do their work during the Limited Operations Period 12/22/10 – 1/2/11 should expect the following conditions:

• Normal level heat at 68 degrees and standard office environment lighting
• Use of the Group Study space on the first floor north side of the building where there are tables and chairs in an open setting with windows. The Library will not provide private office space, supplies, or access to staff areas.
• Calls cannot be forwarded to the University Library. Please be sure to make other arrangements to address personal or business related calls. Should employees need to print, offices can purchase a Library Department Card and use the UniPrint service available in the University Library.
• Wireless access in certain spaces to connect to the Internet via your own wireless cards or laptops with integrated wireless.
• Personal Belongings: while working in public areas do not leave valuables unattended due to the risk of theft.
• Lunch Location: University personnel can use the basement level Staff Lounge, LI-B005, to eat lunch.  The lounge has a microwave, vending machines, and casual seating.
• Please keep in mind the University Library is open for business and have an obligation to provide the appropriate environment for students and researchers.
