Writing for Computer Science: The Art of Effective Communication

I came across this book the other day when I saw a blurb about a new edition. The first edition, published in 1997, is an excellent guide for writing papers, articles, and technical reports in computer science. It begins with the basics of good writing in general, and then deals with specifics of conventions used in computer science and mathematics. There are chapters on graphs, figures, and tables; algorithms, hypotheses and experiments; editing; refeeing; and presentation of short talks. It has a good index and a list of sources for additional help. It can be found in the Science Library circulating book collection: T 11 Z62 1997.
