Wiley Announces Open Access Initiative

Publisher John Wiley & Sons announces a new open access initiative referred to as "funded access." Under this program, journal article authors will have the option of paying a fee to ensure that their article is available to non-subscribers upon publication. Wiley developed this program "for those authors who want to publish in a Wiley journal, and whose funding agency requires deposit in an archive." Initially, "funded access" covers 45 biomedical journals and the fee is $3,000. For more information and list of journals in the program, please see http://www3.interscience.wiley.com/authorresources/funded_access.html.
