Fishes of the World

Joseph S. Nelson's Fishes of the World has been revised and is now available in its fourth edition. The goal of this book is "to present a modern introductory systematic treatment of all major fish groups, both fossil and living." It is a "guide and reference to the classification of fishes." Most levels of the systematic hierarchy are described, and there are illustrations for most families. Fishes of the World is available in the reference section of the Science Library at QL 618 N4 2006. Older editions of this book are available in the Science Library circulating book collection.
