Science of Blogging

There's a new and very important blog: Science of Blogging. Why is it important? Science of Blogging will attempt to help scientists to use social media to disseminate, communicate, and explain their research better.

From Science of Blogging: "Science of Blogging will not only highlight the ways by which social media is changing the way science and research is communicated, but also will provide basic guidelines for those individuals or organizations who seek to use social media to increase the public understanding of scientific research."

AIP's UniPHY Adds New Feature

I wrote about UniPHY, AIP's social network, here. AIP has added a new feature to UniPHY that "will allow UniPHY members to form collaborative environments centered on any number of common interests, including journals, disciplines, institutions, organizations, or upcoming events. It gives researchers the ability to create public groups, which any UniPHY member can join; create private groups and invite selected members to join; create or comment on threaded discussions within group pages; and search for groups created by other members." Additional information about this new feature is available here.
