A Comparison of SciFinder and Scopus XX
This post examines:
Forensic body fluid identification: The Raman spectroscopic signature of saliva. Analyst 135 (3), pp. 512-517 (2010).
Scopus found 8 cited references with 4 unique and SciFinder found 4 cited references with no unique. Three of the 4 unique cited references found in Scopus have article records in SciFinder. However, none have citation lists and therefore no citing links. The records of all three are minimal, containing little or no indexing information. Two of the article records may be incomplete due to their relatively recent publication dates; they were published in Laser Physics Letters on November 2, 2011 and Journal of Biomedical Optics on October 26, 2011. The third article, which is in Proceedings of SPIE, was published on June 24, 2011. The last Scopus unique item does not have an article record in SciFInder. It was published in AIP Conference Proceedings, which is selectively covered by SciFinder.
