Xreferplus search box

I've added the xreferplus search box near the top of the index page of the online Reference collection with this text, "Need a quick definition or explanation? Try xreferplus, a collection of online reference books."

It will be there after today's upload. Please let me know if you think this is a useful addition and if you have any suggestions for additions or changes to the text.

Thanks.
Jane

Catalog of U.S. Government Publications

Laura has made two links to the new GPO Catalog of U.S. Government Publications. There is one under catalogs from the main page and one in the database finder. The CGP, as it is referred to in govdoc circles, replaces the Monthly Catalog. Since it has a new name it is available in the database finder under C for Catalog. The Silverplatter version is still in the database finder under G for GPO Monthly Catalog. I have also linked to it from the govdocs page under "comprehensive."

The CGP is an ALEPH system so it should be familiar to us. It has some very nice feature including purls and linking to libraries have selected a certain publication. It still has some bugs but it is head and shoulders above the old version.

IBZ

I would like to move the Internationale Bibliographie der Zeitschriftenliteratur ( AI 9 I5 ) from Reference to the 3rd floor stacks. We stopped subscribing in 1989 and II don't think it is getting any use. Please let me know by April 20 if you know of anyone who would be inconvenienced by having to go to the stacks for it. Thanks for your input.

ISP 100 Popular Website Assignment

This week's ISP 100 assignment (due at 5pm 4/6) is to find a popular OR a "personal" webpage. A personal webpage seems to mean a blog or a personal wiki. This is somewhat different from previous assignments on webpages, and we don't currently have a yellow handout telling students how to do this. The assignment is described on this webpage:
