Clickers for psychology class

Hello,

Charlotte was just trying to help a student register her "clicker" for a psychology class taught by Professor Earleywine. Apparently this is a device they use to vote or give feedback during class. They have to register it online, and the student was unsure of whether she'd done it correctly. We cannot determine this, so if you have a student with the question, they'll have to check with their instructor.

However, if you get a student who just doesn't know what the website is to register the device, send them here:

Thanks,

Greg

Student Athlete Study Space

Athletics has contacted Brenda to allocate study space for study athletes for this semester. After consulting with Cathy, we agreed that they could use the table in gov docs along the wall by the elevator and the water fountain. The athletes should know where to go and the bulk of their assigned study times are nights and weekends.

Google Book Search

Now that Google Book Search includes downloadable copies of classic public domain books, I've added it to the Books, Book Reviews & Publishers page of the online Reference Collection, under the Books Online subheading.

Coverage for Kay's subjects

Hi Folks,

If you get inquiries from students or faculty about who is covering Kay’s subject areas here’s the information you will need:

Linguistics and Cognitive Sciences - Jesus Alonso

Russian and East European Studies/ Slavic and Eurasian Studies - Daryl Bullis

Anthropology – Jerry Burke

Sociology - Mary Jane Brustman

If the inquiry concerns scheduling a bibliographic instruction session please refer the faculty member to Trudi Jacobson.

You can refer all other types of inquiries to me.

Thanks, Mary

LI 137

Hi,

Pete Connolly and Laura Ryan from ITS met with Brenda and myself in mid-August to discuss the next phase for LI-137. Below is what we agreed upon and the sign that Brenda developed to have posted in LI-137.

1) LI-137 will continue to remain open consistent hours with the library.
2) LI-137 will be staffed by ITS students as many of these hours as possible. A single pool of students will be serving LI-137, LC-3 and the Information Commons.

3) ITS will continue to maintain the printer and PCs in LI-137.
4) Brenda will arrange to have information posted in LI-137 on where to get/contact help if no consultant is available in the room. There will be times when no help is available but LI-137 is open. We continue to believe that the benefit of having the room open outweighs the few times when there is no help available anywhere.

This agreement for LI-137 will remain in place through the 2006-2007 academic year.

Thanks

Cathy
