Yanna Liang, PhD:
The Pursuit of Sustainability

Campus Conversations: Doctor Yanna Liang

Yanna Liang, PhD, founding chair of UAlbany's Department of Environmental and Sustainable Engineering, will lead the second “Campus Conversations in Standish” of the fall 2018 semester with a talk titled “The Pursuit of Sustainability.”

The event will take place on Wednesday, November 7, 2018, 12:35–1:30 p.m. in the Science Library’s Patricia and J. Spencer Standish Board Room. Complimentary refreshments will be provided. All are welcome.

Dr. Liang received her BE degree in Environmental Engineering from Suzhou University of Science and Technology, Jiangsu, China in 1992, and MS and PhD degrees, also in Environmental Engineering, from Utah State University in 2003 and 2006, respectively. Before Dr. Liang started her academic career in 2007, she worked for the Environmental Protection Agency, both in China and in the U.S., for more than eight years. Her research interests include the fate and transport of engineered nanoparticles in aqueous and soil environments, water and wastewater management, and solving environmental concerns using biological processes.

Launched by the University Libraries in spring 2015 and held two to three times per semester, “Campus Conversations in Standish” raise awareness of UAlbany faculty research and expertise, connecting members of the UAlbany community and beyond. “Campus Conversations in Standish” are free and open to the public, and are always held on selected Wednesdays, 12:35–1:30 p.m. in the Patricia and J. Spencer Standish Board Room on the third level of the Science Library.
